Richard Dale Stillwagoner

Richard Dale Stillwagoner of Mansfield, Texas came to rest on Monday in the comfort of his family’s home at the age of 76.

Richard, formerly of Great Bend, Kansas was born February 6, 1948, in New Martinsville, West Virginia to Thurman Gerstel Stillwagoner and Margaret Dorothy (Longwell) Stillwagoner.  He was the youngest of 13 children. He married Cindy (Lang) Stillwagoner on January 18, 1971, in Great Bend, Kansas and they were blessed to have two children, Rebecca and Marc. 

Richard worked for oil field companies in Great Bend before opening Stillwagoner Trucking in 1980 when he bought his first truck. He would eventually add two more trucks until he sold the company to care for Cindy and help her at the Ceramic Corner.  He later worked for Rainbow Trucking then for Feed Mercentile until his retirement. Richard had his faith and was previously a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, Kansas. After moving to Texas, he was baptized at Fielder Church – South Oaks Campus on November 27, 2022.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting and hanging out at Big Shop. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Margaret Stillwagoner; wife, Cindy Stillwagoner; 10 siblings in which he was the last brother of the family.

He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy his daughter, Rebecca Smith and husband Matt of Meridian, Idaho; son, Marc Stillwagoner and wife Melinda of Mansfield, Texas; two sisters; grandchildren, Lillie and Luke Stillwagoner, Danielle and Natalie Smith; several nieces and nephews along with dear friends, Ron and Yvonne Strecker and Roxie Crawford.

Memorial Service: 11:00 am Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Fielder Church - South Oaks Campus 5925 US HWY 287 in Arlington, Texas 76017.

The interment will be held at a later date at Great Bend Cemetery, 4500 Broadway, Great Bend, Kansas, 67530.
