Robert A. Murray, of Burleson, Texas, formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Celebration of Life: 4:30 PM Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Crowley Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Robert was born on December 18, 1932 in Eagle River, Wisconsin to Thomas D. Murray and Ursula Smock.
Upon graduating high school, Robert proudly served in the United States Army (1953-1955). Once out of the military, he attended the Emanuel Missionary College to study music in 1958. During this time, he worked for Monterey Bay Academy until 1962, he then went on to work for Union College until 1995. He continued his education at the University of Michigan-Masters in Music Performance in 1964, and finally received his PHD in music from the University of Michigan in 1971.
Robert loved music and his passion carried into his piano and organ career. He picked up photography as a hobby and had a gift for capturing special moments for family and others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Leona Murray; daughter, Kathy Dickerson and husband, Dennis; son, Rob Murray and wife, Susan Weismuller; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dickerson) Classen and Dane Classen, Aaron Dickerson and Becca Dickerson, Laura (Dickerson) Pinto and Gabriel Pinto; great-grandchildren, Noah, Micah, Eliana and Asher Dickerson, Gabriela and Isaiah Pinto.
