Janet Leigh Smith Brauer, 60, found complete healing in the Lord on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 3:28 pm. Janet was born on October 1, 1957 in Cleburne, Texas to A.L. and Anita Smith. She grew up in Joshua where she graduated in 1976, attended college at Southwestern Adventist University where she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education in 1994, and then earned a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Tarleton State University in 2002. She began her teaching career at Joshua ISD teaching multiple grade levels for 11 years, and then at Tarver-Rendon Elementary in Mansfield for the last 12 years. She touched many students lives over the years, most especially by growing children's love of reading and learning. She enjoyed reading, quilting with the Frantastic Quilters and Johnson County Quilt Guild, exploring the mountains and traveling all over, spending time with family spoiling her grandboys, and laughing. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, Fort Worth.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Brian; Son, Larrs Brauer of Perryton, TX; Daughter, Sarah Pronger and husband Patrick of Sunray, TX; grandsons, Rance Pronger and Logan Brauer; parents, A.L. and Anita Smith of Cleburne; sisters, Nancy Bullard, Jo Prenger, all Suzy Smith Wigand, all of Cleburne, and many nieces and nephews.
She was loved by everyone she met and will be dearly missed by all of her family, friends, students, and teachers.
