Arthur J. Speece III, D.O., passed away on February 9, 2021.
Service: Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
Arthur was born on May 13, 1944 to Vera Conklin Speece and Arthur Speece Jr. Arthur served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 as an Lt. Forward Observer where he was awarded two Bronze Stars. After his military career, he continued his education by attending Kansas City Osteopathic Medical School. He married Dorothy Moench Speece on October 13, 1990 in Duncanville, Texas
Arthur was a dedicated Physician at his own medical office for many years, a delegate, held multiple offices and the president of Texas Osteopathic Medical Association. He was a delegate to the house of American Osteopathic Association for 30 years. In his pastime, he enjoyed time outdoors hunting and fishing. Arthur also had a love for raising, riding and showing horses. Most importantly, Arthur loved to spend time with his family. Whether it be traveling with everyone, playing cards on a game night, or spoiling his wife Dodi. He enjoyed being a husband, father, and grandfather above everything else.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Vera Speece; father-in-law, Carol Moench Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Speece; daughters, Shannon Bedwell (Jesse), Kim Lewis, DIana Speece; son, Oren Speece; mother-in-law, Imogene Moench Wilkinson; brother, Conrad Speece (Kathy); grandchildren, Tristan Vaughan, Trevor Bedwell, Connor Bedwell, Andi St. Clair, Kaden Lewis, Sadie Suarez, A.J. Suarez; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to VFW post 3894, 1405 I35E, Waxahachie, Tx 75165.
