On Thursday, October 15, 2020, Gary Lee Spence, beloved husband, and father of twelve children, and long-time resident of Joshua, TX. passed away at the age of 60.
Graveside: 2 pm Monday, November 16, 2020 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery,
Gary was born on March 1, 1960 in Ayer, Massachusetts to Charles and Brigitte (Vietz) Miles. at approximately 6 years old Gary was adopted by James spence, when James married Brigitte. In his younger years, Gary served in the United States Army at the rank of sergeant.
Gary was married to Penny Davis from 1986-1989 and from 2019 - present. In 1989, Gary married Pamela Jordan and help raise her three small children. They later went on to adopt eight children together. they were married for 30 years.
Gary received his bachelor's degree in business administration. He spent fifteen years working in law enforcement and then went on to become a longtime employee of the United states Postal Service. Gary had a passion for hunting, he loved his dogs and enjoyed the countless hours he spent training them. He also enjoyed studying the stars and all the different constellations.
Gary was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints. He was known for his quick wit, his sence of adventure and spontaneity. He was very resourceful, Knowledgeable, hardworking, strong willed, and determined.
Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Brigitte spence; sister, Maureen Yvonne Giaquinto; and his biological father, Charles Miles.
Survivors: Wife , Penny Spence; children, Cody Nix, Lacey Phillips, Mathew Hill, Brandon Covalt-Spence, MJ LePrell, Ashley Andrez, Gabriel Spence, David Spence, Junior Spence, Brigitte Spence, Andrew Spence, and Yvonne Spence; father, James Spence; brother, Dennis Spence; sister, Robin Pearcy; 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
