Jason was born July 1, 1970, in Des Moines, IA. He lived a life full of fun and adventure, had a heart of gold and was amazingly witty and funny. He loved playing and watching sports, fishing, camping, being at the lake, taking family vacations, and spending time with family and friends. He lived a life without fear, never knowing a stranger and always wanted to help anyone in need. During his childhood, he was a highly decorated, competitive gymnast and at the age of fifteen was chosen as one of three male gymnasts in Iowa to train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. He moved to Texas in 1985 where he graduated from Nimitz High School in Irving in 1988. Jason had an unbelievably strong work ethic. He studied and obtained his Journeyman Electrician’s license in 2001 and worked on various commercial and residential properties throughout the state of Texas. Jason met the love of his life, Shelley, on July 22, 2001, they got married on April 10, 2004 and he became a father figure to Michael. They welcomed their son, David, in May 2005 and their daughter, Whitney in March 2008. On August 25, 2016, he and Shelley welcomed their first grandson, Lazarus Knox, to the world.
As a loving husband and father he enjoyed spending time with David fishing in their kayaks, watching Whitney play soccer, and looked forward to anniversary dates to The Cheesecake Factory with Shelley. Family was everything to Jason, he was such a proud father and husband to his wonderful wife and children.
