Steven Brian Cloud

Steven Brian Cloud, 65, of Joshua, passed away surrounded by the people he loved on August 20,2024, after a lengthy battle with liver disease.

 Steve was born on September 21, 1958, to Mattie (Pat) and Robert (Bobby) Cloud in Ft. Worth, Texas. He grew up with his 3 brothers in Newark, Texas, playing ball in the front yard, fishing in the river and riding bikes on the dirt roads. He graduated from Northwest High School where he enjoyed being a part of every sport offered, especially football. He followed in his dad's footsteps working for 15 years before retiring in 2019 from Union Pacific Railroad. In 1993, he met his soulmate, Cindy, and to his great fortune, it also allowed him to become a father to Tyler. They married June 16, 1995, and Steve was thrilled to add a daughter, Hannah, in 1997. His love for family and his huge heart had no limits and that resulted in adding a son, Oliver, in 2016. His children, along with the light of his life, granddaughter Ava, brought him so much happiness and filled his life with joy. Their devotion to him was shown time and time again as they cared for him during the last few years. Steve loved to travel and made lots of trips to the beaches in Mexico, and to the casinos for some fun playing the slots. He loved to tell the story of one his trips to Mexico where some women were convinced he was Jimmy Buffet, and he posed for pictures with them. This fit in perfectly with his love for a good practical joke! He enjoyed playing golf his whole life, particularly with his brothers. The golf shenanigans started young, when they would hit golf balls at their mom, as she sat with their grandma a few hundred feet away. She would yell “you boys are getting too close”, not knowing that was their goal. The four of them played golf as often together as they could, even as Steve became sick. 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Bobby; his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Howard Cobb; his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela Maddux and Buddy Cobb. 

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his daughter, Stormy (Hannah) Cloud; his son and daughter-in-law, Tyler Cloud and Brie Peacock; his son, Oliver Nettles Cloud; his granddaughter, Ava. He is also survived by his brothers, Corkey & Donna, Ronnie & Pam, and Kenny & Arlene; his sister-in-law, Debera Cobb and brother-in-law, Larry Maddux, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 2:00 at Skyvue Funeral Home, 7220 FM 1187, Mansfield Texas
