Johnie Swiney (Hokett)

Johnie Swiney 86 years old passed away Friday November 30th. She was a widow of Billy Swiney of 31 years. They shared 37 years of marriage together.

Johnie was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 24 1932. She was the daughter of John and Hattie Hokett. Johnie was employed by Williams and Dickies, helped out in running Cowtown Speedway and was a homemaker to her husband and three wonderful children.

Johnie was a member of Trentman Ave., Church of Forest Hill which moved to Arlington in the late 80s and change the name to Pleasant View Baptist church.

Johnie loved the races, that was one of her pride and joys. She looked forward to her Saturday nights.
Johnie was a very caring and loving person. Always making sure everyone was taking care of.

Johnie is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Overstrom, Judy Swiney partner Dee Jenkins, Lisa Bogart and husband Danny Bogart; Four grandchildren, Norman Wall wife Mandi Wall, Brittney Bleeker husband James Bleeker, Bobbi Jo Bogart boyfriend JB Baker, Heather Wall boyfriend Harlan Dickson and 13 great grandchildren along with her dog baby that she loves so much.

Johnie was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, sister, and husband, Billy Swiney.

The funeral service will be held on December 5 at 1 o’clock at Skyvue Funeral home located at 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Rd., Mansfield, TX 76063 with the interment at Emerald Hills Memorial Park located at 500 West Sublett Rd. Kennedale TX 76060. The visitation will be held on December 4th from 6 to 8 at Skyvue Funeral Home.
