Ardis Faye Padgitt Taylor was born December 3, 1930 in Kerens, Texas, Navarro County to the late Deacon Jimmy Edward Padgitt, Sr. and Jaine Bell Padgitt. She was the fifth child of ten children. She gave her life over to the Lord in Kerens, Texas at an early age at The Church of the Living God. She went home to her Heavenly Father in the afternoon of July 21, 2015. Ardis, graduated from Park High School in Kerens, Texas and furthered her education at Samuel Huston College (now known as Huston-Tillotson University) in Austin, Texas and later attended Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. She completed the License Vocational Nursing Program at Odessa College. She was employed at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas until retiring in 1996.
She met and married Samuel L. Taylor in Midland, Texas where they lived for forty-five years. This love story lasted for 63 years. They were proud parents of Wilford, Debra, Gayland and Ruby Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Debra Ann, and all of her siblings: Brothers, Jimmy, George, Enillor, and Lloyd Padgitt. Sisters, Ruby Johnson, Erma Medcalf, Peggy Kelly, Melba Manning, and Ila Warren. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Samuel L. Taylor, daughter Ruby Taylor, sons and wives Wilford Taylor (Rita), Gayland Taylor (Audrey). Grandchildren: Debra Taylor - Boykin, Christopher Martin, Khiry, Malik (Clarissa), and Attallah Abdullah. Two great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
