Marcus Titera

May 6, 1993 — August 2, 2016

Marcus Ian Titera of Mansfield Texas passed from this mortal existence on August 2nd, 2016. He was born on May 6, 1993 in Johnson City, New York to Cal and Irene Titera. He is the youngest of five boys.

Marcus was an energetic, sensitive, happy child with a lot of friends. He liked school and did well at his studies.

He enjoyed the outdoors with his family and in Boy Scouts.

He loved music and art and at a young age learned to play the piano under the tutelage of Joyce Kimball, Kathy Trowbridge, and Laura Vincent, each of whom had a profound impact on his appreciation for music and the importance of discipline in order to excel.

Marcus participated in art competitions in school and always filled his journals with sketches. He wrote poetry and prose and was working on a novel.

He excelled in sports including pole vaulting/track, tennis, football (on High School teams in Mansfield, Issaquah and Flower Mound) and played basketball and soccer on Mansfield youth teams.

He was on the Academic Decathlon team and participated in Choir.

Marcus was good with children, and his eight nieces and nephews have always loved him.

He participated in a six-week survival program in the desert of Arizona called Anasazi, where he spent much of the time in soul searching and contemplation.

He struggled with mental health challenges including depression and addiction.

He was strong and capable. He acquired a variety of construction skills in residential remodeling and had a very strong work ethic. He was one you could count on to finish the job and do it well.

He loved to clean and organize and to beautify with landscaping.

He was a student at Brigham Young University in Idaho and wanted to be a psychologist because he felt that his unique insights could be of benefit to others.

He recently became interested in joining the marines and was working to acquire the necessary college credits to enter the program that interested him.

Marcus was sensitive, charming and charismatic. He had strong leadership and interpersonal skills. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Student Ward at the University.

Marcus is preceded in death by two of his brothers, Benjamin and Christian and survived by Jamie and Adrian.
