Russell N. Ward, 79, went to be with the Lord on Thursday August 5, 2021.
Chapel Service: 11am Saturday August 14, 2021, at Skyvue Victoria Chapel.
Russell was born on July 28, 1942, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to his mother, Zelia Mae Burns and father, Joseph Lightfoot Ward. In his adulthood Russell was a resident of Burleson, Texas and a long-time resident of Arlington, Texas for 30 years as well as Morton, Ranger, Texas and Smithville, Oklahoma. He meet Sally and was head over heels getting married in Ranger, Texas at the First Baptist Church on June 3, 1961, and from that point on the rest was history between Sally and him. Russell graduated from Morton Highschool in 1960 and then proceeded to go to Ranger College for 2 years. Later in his life he retired from General Motors as a supervisor for over 30 years. In his spare time Russell liked carpentry, wood working, fishing and hunting in Colorado and spending time with his loving family.
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 60 plus years Sally Ward; son, Rio and wife Lisa Ward; daughter, Lori Ward and significant other Michael McCoy; dear family friend, Randy Wallace and his family; grandchildren, Jessica (Josh), Rachel (Jeremy), Matthew (Samantha), brother in laws, Ed Mendez and his wife, Mark Barbosa and his family; great grandchild, Ainsley; nieces, Gina Ward and family, Jennifer Sanders and family, Amy Ward; nephew, Joel Ward; sisters, Labelle and family, Lafonda and family; brother, Warren Dean and family; his best man, Johnny Swinney; dear friend and neighbor, Patches Morgan; many General Motors friends and many, many close friends and you should know who you all are! He was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation.
