Wilton Joseph Joe
April 3, 1943 – January 17, 2025
On Friday, January 17, 2025, our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went home peacefully to receive his heavenly reward.
Wilton was born in Cade, Louisiana to Morris and Laura Joe. He grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School and joined the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Vietnam and five tours in Germany. While traveling the world to different duty stations, Wilton would take college courses along the way receiving his degree. Wilton and Shirley married and have two children, Tiffany and Monte. Wilton retired from the U.S. Army in 1985 with 23 years of service. Wilton then went on to serve and work for the VA and retired with 20 years of service. Wilton was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was also a lifetime 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Wilton leaves a loving and devoted legacy to his wife of 60 years, Shirley; his daughter, Tiffany; his son Monte (Robin); his grandson, Lorenzo (Madisyn); granddaughters, Aziah and Nevada and Lex’n; great-grandchildren, Kash, Arlo and Namara; brother, Wilbert (Mary); nephew, Michael and family; niece, Denise (Narwayne) and family; Jenny (mother of Brayden).
Wilton was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Laura; grandson, Brayden.
Wilton will be remembered for his enormous heart and generosity.
Anyone that knew him can honestly say the man never met a stranger.
Thank you to family and friends for your thoughts and prayers for Wilton and his family.
To my children: Take care of yourselves and take care of your mom!
To my grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Put God first and make me proud, because I will be watching over you!
